Privacy Policy for HRV Remote

Local HRV Remote is an unofficial local-network remote control app for compatible heat recovery ventilation units.
This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Helios or its manufacturer.


Information We Collect

Local HRV Remote does not collect personal information from users.
The app does not require user registration, does not create user accounts, and does not ask for personal details such as name, email address, phone number, or address.


Local Network Access

The app scans the local Wi-Fi network to find compatible ventilation units.
To do this, the app may access local network information such as:
- the phone’s local Wi-Fi IP address
- nearby local IP addresses on the same network
- the local IP address of a compatible ventilation unit
This information is used only on the user’s device to find and communicate with the compatible ventilation unit.
The local IP address of the ventilation unit may be saved on the device so the app can reconnect faster the next time it is opened.


Password Storage

The app may allow the user to enter a fallback device password.
If entered, this password may be stored locally on the user’s device so it can be reused for future login attempts.
The password is used only to communicate with the compatible device on the local network. It is not sent to the app developer, to any cloud server, or to third parties.


Device Communication

The app communicates directly with compatible ventilation units over the local network.
The app may send commands such as:
- login request
- change ventilation mode
- change ventilation level
- enable or disable boost mode
- read current device status
These requests are sent only to the local IP address of the compatible ventilation unit.


Data Sharing

Local HRV Remote does not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties.
The app does not send personal data to external servers.


Internet Access

The app may use network access only to communicate with devices on the user’s local network.
The app does not use a cloud service, analytics service, advertising service, or tracking service.


Analytics and Advertising

Local HRV Remote does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or third-party marketing tools.


Children’s Privacy

This app is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.


Data Retention

The app may store the compatible device IP address and optional fallback password locally on the user’s device.
The user can clear the saved IP address from the app settings.
The user can remove or change the fallback password from the app settings.
Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data according to the device’s normal Android app data removal behavior.


Security

The app stores settings locally on the user’s device.
Users should only use this app on trusted private Wi-Fi networks.
Because communication with compatible devices happens over the local network, users are responsible for securing their Wi-Fi network and device password.


Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
Any changes will be posted at the same privacy policy URL with an updated effective date.
